Lake Nona Lions boys basketball beat Tohopekaliga 44 to 39 in the district tournament. They take on 2nd ranked Harmony at 7 PM tonight for the district semi-finals at Celebration.

Lake Nona’s girls water polo is off to a 7 and 0 start to the season extending a 51-game winning streak over 3 seasons. Last night they beat Seminole 13 to 5 with Emily Scheerer scoring 6 goals. Ana Carrera had 7 steals. Boys water polo lost to Seminole  15 to 13.

Magic beat the Nuggets 115 to 104 with Wendell Carter Jr. scoring 19 points. Magic traded Mo Bamba to the Lakers just before the trade deadline. The Magic picked up a 2024 second-round pick via the Nuggets as part of a four-team trade. Heat host the Rockets tonight.

Lightning blanked the Avalanche 5 to 0 with Brandon Hagel scoring 2 goals.

Canadians Nick Taylor and Adam Hadwin lead the PGA Phoenix Open after day one.
